Controversy Accused of Cheating and Dishonesty
In 2021, an former Indian athlete Jemma Joseph filed a criticism within the Vellayil Police Station towards P. T. Usha and 6 different members of a development firm. The criticism was filed beneath IPC Section 420 (dishonest and dishonesty). In the criticism, Jemma mentioned,
“I paid Rs 46 lakh to Usha for an condominium and was promised that the development can be accomplished inside the given time. However, the condominium was not prepared nor did the development firm was prepared to provide again the cash. When I confronted the builders, the agency mentioned PT Usha was accountable for paying again the sum however the former nationwide athlete didn’t give again the cash.”
Later, the criticism was forwarded to the Kozhikode Police Chief AV George. The case was the forwarded to the Kerala Real Estate Regulatory Authority.
